I ratted out the new guy to the boss.
For some reason, he tried to blindside me and throw me under the bus on a call with our boss when the data looked off.
He said to me "NO Ken. The email I send out to you EVERY week says if 'CHECK', you
have to change it". I argued that this was never made clear and the other person also doing this work didn't always change it. I was confused.
Then I pulled up his email and it noted "If 'CHECK', avoid changing it and put is aside for discussion. This is his email that he sends out every week.
He then started trying to argue with "but elsewhere..." and I cut him off with "don't tell me you're trying to argue that it means the opposite of what you wrote!" and he just shut up.
I ran this department
by myself when the rest of the team (except the VP) quit and this new guy is very smart, had been very nice and likeable and has a masters, but what he did was completely disrespectful and also condescending to me.
I'm a nice guy 99% of the time, but my entire life I've stood up to every bully and backstabber. I don't know why they do crap like that.
Well, I talked to the boss about how I felt, but I also added this little gem:
"Everyone makes mistakes, but what is worse than someone who makes mistakes?"
A: " Someone who won't admit they've made a mistake."
