I used a drogue parachute that was a 24 inch size Explorer from Valkyrie Recovery Systems on my first dual deploy flight. I saw the info about it on TRF as I was building the rocket. I have had one failure (crash) of a rocket due to parachute entanglement, so I decided to try the Valkyrie Explorer to try my best to not have that happen again.
The motor used was an I500 DMS. It worked perfectly! I have a youtube video of it, but its just crummy cell phone video:
