Did I somehow let the smoke out of my featherweight mag switch?

Wiring up featherweight switch. When connected as intended (first pic), the light is faint and tracker does not turn on.

If I unplug tracker, light gets bright. (Second pic).

If I plug tracker into battery it initiates and runs.

Did I somehow let the smoke out? What am I doing wrong?

It's a little hard to see what's connected to what. Could you separate your wires a little more and post another photo? Is there a difference when the magnet is used to turn it on and off?

Remember when I asked about shorting between nuts on the back side? I think that is what happened. Swapped the switch…works great!
