This is indeed cool. Discovering reality, eliminating one infinity at a time.

Interesting. Didn't know photons were the carrier for electromagnetism. Does that mean if there is no light you cannot have electro magnetism? Or that electromagnetism creates light.....?

More so light is an electromagnetic wave/particle.

Things are complicated. In the electro-weak theory electromagnetism and the weak force have been united. The photon (a boson) is related to the three weak force particles, the W neutral boson, the W negative boson, and the W positive boson. The W boson particles are extremely heavy and, hence, have a very short range. The Higgs field/boson operates to make the W-bosons very heavy, however, in contrast the photon (boson) has no rest mass and thus travels at the speed of light and has a very long range.

Photons are not just the tiny sliver of visible light (300-700nm), the entire EM spectrum is photons. Radio, microwaves, X-Rays, gamma rays, infrared etc... etc... It is all quite fascinating.

no because they are created especially for carrying electromagnetism, it can’t be dark if you electromagnetism is a better way to say it.

I guess none of the commentors read the article. it's about QCD, not QED. Gell-Mann, not Feynman.
