Put all of the pictures through the years in the envelopes, marked the envelopes and put them in boxes. The boxes are marked on the outside so there's no doubt where the person's pictures are.

Attempted to make lemon jam, as Corinne likes lemon and Geniece is a fanatic for it. Made lemon syrup instead :( ; a box and a half of pectin in just 2 1/2 pints of jam and it still wouldn't gel. At a guess, too much acid.

You might also want those wireless long range "Dakota Alert" devices on your Ingress areas to your property. I have a friend with them setup on his small farm. They use VHF for long range.

Don’t need more than 300 feet. The swamp and fences do a good job on most of the edges. I need to see the crowd that drives up.

(Yesterday) Ripped five sensors off my chest (good thing they shaved those areas first!) and returned the heart monitor. Got results from echocardiogram. If I understand correctly I have a problem with the left ventricle's exit valve; backflow ~45%. So that may be why I'm short of breath just two miles into a brisk walk. :(

The good news: no thinning of walls, no evidence of fluid in pericardium, no evidence of aortic aneurysm (THAT is especially good news as Dad had to have his aorta repaired).
I don't know which way to go with that one.
:( 👍

That doesn't sound like a tragedy. It happened to me with a batch of strawberries; in my case not enough pectin. So it was a jar of strawberry syrup. Oh damn. I don't see anything wrong with lemon syrup either. Try drizzling it over pound cake. Or as a mixer.

Ordered a new weather radio, since the old one didn't alert at all last night; but FM & TV were nonstop between about 7pm and 1am.
Hope things are OK out your way. The OKC TV stations stopped coverage when it gets out of their viewing area. We had 22 confirmed tornadoes, 2 here in Norman. Record high number of severe storm warnings, record high number of tornado warnings issued on Saturday.

I drove through yesterday afternoon, basically from I-40 at Checoah to Sherman, Tx. This was after the storms had gone through, I didn't know at the time that I drove relatively close to the damage at Marietta and Sulphur. Somewhere on the way, maybe close to Atoka, I noticed that the fields and woods on both side of the road were flooded.

I went in my power chair to the ball fields which are about 1/2 mile away to watch one of my grandsons play baseball, I left about 8:30 cuz I don't have lights on my power chair

Just 2.8in of rain for us, no warnings for our county. Usually splits north & south of us -- thanks geography!

If you just want to see a picture, any network camera and a decent wireless router will get you that distance. Just remote straight into camera and watch picture.
There's lots of Chinese cameras that are cheap as chips and have an app you can view through. Ok if you're ok sending data to China. Which I am for some cameras, but not all. Some of them have wifi built in and memory card slots and are pretty much plug and play, but punch a hole in your network security.

We have eight cameras. Two on each corner of the house. One looks down the driveway and the monitor has that cameras view up all the time. When we built the house I had plugs put under the eaves. That's where the cameras get power. They are wireless and the picture is very good and they have night vision. The night vison pictures are excellent. There is an app that lets us view the cameras on our phones from anywhere. They are Ohwoai cameras and came as a bundle. Eight cameras and the DVR. The price was reasonable and they had a high rating on Amazon. The system is expandable up to 16 cameras

Today I had a dentist appointment. I needed prep on the tooth that a crown came off and I swallowed it. It's nice to be on a first name basis with your dentist. I have a very low threshold for pain. I ask him to max the gas and he did. Still hurt and he was surprised. I was surprised when the tech came back with a 3D printed temporary tooth. Isn't technology great. When he gets a chance he is going to come over and we'll do some shooting.

Recording CCTV footage is easy. The tricky bit is finding the specific incident you're looking for. I use NXWitness. It will run on pretty much any PC. You can draw a box around the area you're interested in and it will locate any motion incidents in that location.
So before you purchase any system, make sure it can find when the packet of cigarettes went missing.
Every red line on the bottom green footage line shows when someone went past my mailbox. It will play from incident to incident without having to watch hours of nothing

Went to Casey's as usual for my morning coffee. The cashier was clearly sad about something. Turns out she's going to the ophthalmologist today. Severe macular degeneration and says she can no longer drive at night...but she has to be at the store by 4am. (She also has arthritis that is bad enough that several fingers had to be amputated.) I don't know how she gets to work, but this ~80-year-old woman took a near-minimum-wage job to supplement Social Security, in order to pay basic living expenses. :(🤬

I have to stop, I can hear the thump of my heart. Anger doesn't help.

Yesterday, I found out my brother is back in the hospital for mysterious breathing difficulty. He was in for about a week earlier this month and went home with a BIPAP machine, oxygen concentrator, O2 sat monitor, and no diagnosis. His condition seemed to be gradually improving, then it took a turn for the worse, and now he's back in. But, they are seem to be getting closer to a diagnosis; it's looking like maybe myasthenia gravis, but nothing is conclusive yet.

Got the lab work back for my 6 month physical. A1c not going in the right direction. Dr. added Trulicity to med list. Once a week injection. A lot different from insulin pen I normally use. Got a month's worth, I'll try it for that long and see how it works. Mostly concerned about side effects.

Went on a whirlwind trip to San Diego for work Sunday and yesterday. On the plus side: the customer was impressed by our work, and the $30 "mystery car" rental turned out to be a Mustang convertible. On the minus side, getting threatened with felony charges and getting hit up for a bribe. Therein lies a tale...

When I got to the TSA precheck line at the Seattle airport, I realized my boarding pass didn't have a precheck stamp on it. So I went back to the ticket counter and asked for help. Turned out that I had booked the flight using my expired TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential, a TSA ID that you need to get into secure areas of ports and ships, also gets you precheck on flights since it uses the same background check). So I went through security, texted my wife to ask her to send pictures of the current TWIC, and got down to San Diego. Sometimes terminals that "require TWICs" barely look at them, sometimes they are really careful, so tomorrow we'd find out what kind of terminal it was...

As you might guess, it was the latter. For the rest of the story, we have three employees of the security company that handles stuff for the Port of San Diego, Good Cop, Bad Cop (Good Cop's boss), and Bad Cop's Minion. So we drive up to the gate and I hand my expired TWIC to Good Cop. I see him look at the expiry and hesitate, and immediately explain that I accidentally left the current one home, and I have a picture of it. Bad Cop comes over and says that I've committed crimes since I was trying to pass off an expired card. Good Cop talks him down by saying that I came clean even before he mentioned it, so I wasn't trying to get away with anything. I ask if my co-worker can escort me to the boat (on a boat a TWIC holder can escort a non-TWIC-holder), and it turns out that the port requires a special badge to be able to escort people in the terminal. So I get out of the car, send my co-worker to the boat to see if they have someone with the escort badge, and go to wait by the auxiliary guard shack. Eventually, I do find out that the boat does have an escort, but they're busy and won't be free for another 45 minutes. So I sit by the picnic table.

After a few minutes, Good Cop comes over and asks if I'm going to be on the boat or on the pier. On the boat. He perks up and says that the security company can do the escort to and from the boat, and leave me there, but that there's a small fee. I see the sign says that it's $40/hour, no minimum. OK, that seems reasonable--$20 would cover there and back and is my penalty for forgetting my TWIC. So I go up to the auxiliary guard shack, where Bad Cop and Minion are sitting. I say that I'd like to get the escort to the boat, and then they'll come get me when I'm done. Bad Cop says that I have to be done before the end of the shift because otherwise I'll have to pay twice. Shift ends at 1:30 so I have to be ready to get off the boat at 1:00. That's a little tight but it might work. How much will it cost? Oh, $120. Well, I don't have that kind of cash on me. Can I pay with a card? Nope, cash only. Pause. Minion asks if I have CashApp or Zelle? You could pay with those. So at this point I can tell that they're shaking me down. So I decide to wait them out. I'm not going to pay that kind of money when the boat's escort person will be here in half an hour. Plus I keep cash off of my phone as a personal policy.

Good Cop comes by once or twice more, and I explain what's happened. About 15 minutes later he asks if I would have been working all this time if I hadn't been held up. Sure would. So he just drives me out there with no charge. Also, my co-worker heard from the boat captain that the last time this happened it just cost $40 each way for the security guards to drive the person out to the boat. So apparently they have a pretty good racket there.

Anyway, glad to be home and not arrested.

My son came over this afternoon and put the boxes of pictures back in the closet for me and then folded up to 6-ft table I use to take the rocket launches and put it back underneath the bed so all of the picture sorting is finally finished. Then he brought me burritos from one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for dinner since my wife is still away, all around good guy.

Crap. Here we go again! Another thumpy-bumpy night in store. I hope the folks further north are OK.
[edit] when the weatherguy on TV says "pegged out the meter"... I kinda worry
