I worked on Ohio stuff for ~6mos and then Nebraska stuff for ~6mos, and now it look like I'll get to focus on stuff at the Oklahoma office more, which will be nice because that's where I sit and I can just go look at things without a trip and an expense report.

We haven't had to file taxes since going on Social Security but now we get a 1099 as we had the $5000 of debt forgiveness, which means we have income outside of the Social Security, so now we have to file taxes... they just keep squeezing more and more and more out of you it's never enough.
If that's the only thing you need to file taxes on, you should probably look into doing it yourselves. In my opinion, tax preparation services are a rip-off for the average person. Filling out a 1040 yourself is not that hard, and that's usually all you need unless you are a business owner or real estate dealer or something like that. I usually get the 1040 and the state equivalent done in a single weekend afternoon.

Also, if $5000 is the entirety of your taxable income, I would be shocked if you actually pay any taxes on it. It's probably going to come down to just having to report the income and show you owe nothing and are owed nothing.

When we made an interstate move, bought our first house, and had our first (only) baby all in the same year, we bought tax prep software, TaxCut. That was worth the money, and we've used it ever since. But we've never thought about using a service.

Cursed the rain. Exactly seven days of sun between Christmas and Easter and now it’s pouring again: 100 mm (4”) overnight.

The wet season is meant to end at Easter. I’m sure it’s in my contract somewhere. 🤠
The wet season would probably be more cooperative if Easter weren't a movable feast.

True, but I cut Easter some slack just because of that.

We usually say a week of sun after Easter and you can start using heavier machinery without making too much mess. Might have to ring the contractor and postpone that excavator booked for Monday…

Well, like our friends in Oz, Pittsburgh has had a little more than it's share of rain. Came down to my workshop to work on my ACME Spitfire, only to find water everywhere. We were already pretty well saturated when 3-1/2" of rain hit us in two days. So I've spent the afternoon and evening pumping water out of the crawl space, moving stuff around, vacuuming water up and drying stuff out.

I have a normally placid natural spring next door. Check this out:

I hoped that it would be able to handle this flow, but it still has some side leakage issues. This is the worst it's been since 2004, though 2018 was pretty bad as well. In 2018, we didn't get water in the basement.

I went to the Post Office to send a money order to the guy I bought 500 rounds of 7.62x39 ammo from on Gun Broker. Then to the casino to cash in a winner. Next to Home Depot for more weed killer. Stuff costs $41 a container. This one is number 3. Then to the pharmacy for some Covid tests. I started feeling bad on March 18th and wasn't getting better. Then a couple of days later my wife started feeling bad and then got a lot worse. We both tested negative. So I don't know what we have.

If that weren't causing problems, it would be a really beautiful "water feature".

Real ones or "pigs-in-a-blanket"?
Half and half.

SWMBO does NOT like jalapeños. She also prefers "her" hot dogs to other sausages, such as brats, etc. So, I make half a batch as true Klobasnek and half with "her" hot dogs and cheddar cheese.

I have to go clean the kitchen, before I start.

Thanks. That's the thing, it can be a trickle and growing algae, or it can be this, and it has to work for all situations. The grandkids sure enjoy it in the summer, though! And it keeps the gardens watered without using chlorinated "city" water.
