ALL HAIL KING BOB!
Turned out real nice. I wish I had your imagination. My KING BOB MINION rocket build log: the LOC Precision shock cord protector came today which is what I’ve been waiting for on these last steps. To get the cord easily through this 36” protective sleeve I taped a fishing weight to the end of the kevlar cord and let it slip through the sleeve with a little coaxing. I tack glued the bottom 1/2” or so of the sleeve with some CA to the wood bulkhead to anchor it. Next I slid on the protective chute fire blanket up to the sleeve which I scrunched down quite a bit. A double wrap of the Kevlar cord through the eyelet secured the blanket in place so it will not slide up the cord upon deployment. Next the HD barrel swivel was slid over the cord to about 1/3rd of the way down and an overhand loop was tied in securing swivel. Next the loose end of the cord was tied to the nose cone eyelet with a quad knot. I used some wood glue on the knot and end, rubbing the glue in. A small piece of masking tape was then wrapped around the leftover tail and secured to the main cord. Finally the parachute was attached to the barrel swivel and was neatly folded and secured inside the fire blanket. KING BOB came in at 4.935 pounds w/o the motor. The crown and cape are static props only and will not be for flight. With that the rocket is complete and ready to launch. ALL HAIL KING BOB!
Thanks so much! It was a really fun build and I’m quite happy with how it turned out!Turned out real nice. I wish I had your imagination.
