With the deco scheme I have gone off piste a little continuing my own alternate reality track (I did say it would be "Bristol fashion"
). I apologise to any purists but I am very bad at sticking to recipes!
So without wanting to go off into a history lesson (which I don't really know anyway), as i understand it, the Bristol Aerospace who made the Black Brants have their origins (and got their name) from the original Bristol Aeroplane Company, from Bristol UK where I live. Their old school scroll logo has latterly become a well known motif in the city, altho it's probably not so widely realised where it's from.
So as a bit of a fun riff on this I redesigned the decal and made up a company logo as a sort of fictional hybrid, as though the old BAC had persisted into rocket design - Bristol aerospace company, which so far as I know never existed.
So that's my bit of mischief... It may also be noted that I have used a different shade of red than the real deal. But from going thru the drawings in detail I did notice a couple of minor points that are not correct in the scale model scheme (like which fin is the odd colour) and have adopted the correct version. Giveth and taketh away.
I also copied the same scheme across to my smaller model which also gives an idea of how much I will need to cut the first stage down when I put on the second.
