Arachnid™ Payload Model Rocket Kit



Eight Fin Design

Just like the Arachnid Model Rocket Kit, this very stable model rocket design has EIGHT (8) Laser Cut Balsa Fins. Flights can be almost straight up. BT60 tube design give lots of room.

I could not find a gallery for the Arachnid, so I took a stab at creating one. I have built two of this rockets and really like them, despite the difficulty in filleting and painting the small spaces between the 8 fins on this rocket. But those 8 fins make for an extremely stable flight with little to no spin. This is one of my favorite rockets for using key fob cameras on because the lack of spin. My favorite motors for the Arachnid are E20-7's and E30-7's.

My first Arachnid was consumed by the feared Rocket Eating Tree when a breeze caused it to drift...our the tree inhaled:
