Problem is that clear decal paper would show all white portions as black (the basecoat color).Since the rocket is black it seems like the decals would be better if no black ink was used. Thus the clear decal would use the black paint on the rocket itself.
I have nightmare visions of myself trying to trim a wet decal. In my experience it works best to trim the black edges after soaking, so you can remove the white edges. I start with them a bit oversized so I leave room for trimming.
Yup. See post #65. A better solution (I think) coming up.I used a black Sharpie around the black decal to cover the white edges. Seems to work.

Another experiment.
Printed Saluki's body cover .pdf from post #33 on laser decal paper and cut out the corrugated area. Applied to see if it would do a good job of appearing as "faux corrugations".

I like it! Thanks Saluki!
On to the rest of the decals.
TBC.
I get 3/8" high, 1 7/16" wide.Kuririn, would you do me a favor and measure the large USAF and tell me what the size is?
I'm in touch with Mark at Stickershock23 and he is going to do me the markings.
He measures the USAF at 1.65 wide just under 1/2"tall.
Is that a close measurement?
Second flight this past Saturday.

She went up on a D12-5.
Good nominal flight.
Y harness worked great, came down horizontally with no damage.
