It's been said that they have the capability to zoom down and being able to tell whether a coin laying on the ground is heads or tails, but I always wondered how many people are employed to monitor all of this?

Two - one for heads and one for tails.

I am 100% sure we are. Although we are not supposed to do so, I suspect we are watching our own citizens. Might sound paranoid, but I stopped trusting in 2020.
ALPR. Monitor your every move. Collected by private companies and sold to LEO, no 4th amendment considerations.

Interesting. Automated license plate readers (ALPRs) are high-speed, computer-controlled camera systems that are typically mounted on street poles, streetlights, highway overpasses, mobile trailers, or attached to police squad cars.

I used to think that if you do not break the law, you have nothing to worry about.

I remember watching a video from the UK a few years ago. A guy came out of a pub. Took a leek by his car, got in and drove away. The police saw him on camera from the moment he came out of the pub and started driving. He was on camera the whole time he was driving and was never lost. Not even for a few seconds. The clip was several minutes long. Eventually he was pulled over. I have often told people visiting Vegas that you are being watched from the moment you got off the plane until you get back on. Cameras on the streets and all around and in the Casinos and Hotels. Next time your in a Casino in Vegas look up. There are thousands of cameras. The surveillance departments have hundreds of employees and the people that work there are very secretive. They don't talk about what they do. I remember being told that we could read a newspaper from orbit and that was over 40 years ago.

There is not privacy unless you live where I do. There are no cameras except on the satellites and maybe drones.

China is making progress on targeting from space using a new system of tracking from satellites.

The U.S. military has long held a key advantage over China's: it can hit mobile targets at extremely long distances. But that “monopoly is over,” the Space Force’s intel chief said Thursday. China is building a massive architecture of remote-sensing satellites to help target U.S. forces if they move to defend Taiwan in a conflict, said Maj. Gen. Greg Gagnon, deputy chief of space operations for intelligence.

China has been using the cover of their civilian businesses to grow their military tech with dual use equipment for decades. Every sector of their economy is geared toward their military regardless of what they appear to be. They say their space station is for friendly research. If you believe that I have a mountain in Florida for sale. When they put a satellite up and say it's a weather satellite it's really a military satellite. Now they are planning a Moon Base. And then they will claim the Moon is theirs to keep stability and peace. Which is the same they say when they are harassing the Philippines. I'm worried that when their economy crashes soon that will be the trigger to attack Taiwan.
