Hi.. looking for advice on how to paint a large checkerboard on the tailfins of my 4" LOC Nike Zeus. i've attached a photo of what i'm trying to accomplish. LOC provided decals, except for the fins.

I second using Tamiya tape. Be careful where the tape crosses so it is pushed down well. Even then you might have little seeps of black under the tape. I've had the best luck by taping over the white, then spraying another coat of white over that so that the seeps under the tape are white too. Then spray the black. Let the paint cure a day before peeling off the tape.
 
+ On the Tamiya Tape and letting the paint cure for at least 1 day or even 2 days
And use different widths of tape to. Also if it does not look right redo the masking over
till it looks right and paint only once
