Apogee Draco BG

Finally completed a Draco BG. With any luck it will have a maiden flight this weekend.

It’s a terrific kit, I really enjoyed building it. The assembly videos are a big help. My only real watch out is to save the short standoffs used to align the main wings and wing stiffeners, as they’re used later for the stay wings. It’s not clear from the instructions and I almost tossed them out.

So will I! Tail has some dihedral in it but the wings are very flat. Hopefully it will deploy correctly and right itself and glide well. Weather permitting it’s going up tomorrow!

Wing sweep also has a dihedral effect. I'd need to go grab my aerodynamics book to tell you how much, though.

We didn’t put it up today - winds were 10-15kts and gusty. Didn’t feel right for a first try. Hopefully in a few weeks!

Toughest and usually wisest call is the decision NOT to fly.
