It's mind-boggling to think how much that thing weighs and it still flies.
Look at the number of wheels! It’s an amazing airplane but the number of routes that really require a plane of that capacity has to be pretty small. I mean, wouldn’t it be more profitable to fly two A350’s or two 787’s instead of one A380? Especially if there is a slow down in travel, you can fly one smaller plane full rather than one A380 half full.
 
We made the evacuation slides for it.
Airbus engineers were really worried about weight, we removed the hex flats on a part to make it lighter.
When asked how much overweight the plane is the AirBus rep said, "an A320."
