How can a panel from what looks like 40 years ago put out enough current to fire a igniter?
Ohh I thought it was solar powered. It’s just a switch and a battery, as are the new ones.
I did have to do some sanding on the contacts, and track down with the voltmeter where I was losing contact. But I plugged up an old igniter and it lit it right up.How can a panel from what looks like 40 years ago put out enough current to fire an igniter?
it take a damn big solar panel to generate enough current to fire off an igniter. "Solar" was just Estes Buzz Word that year.Ohh I thought it was solar powered.
Yeah and Estes documentation back in the day was really great.Ohh I thought it was solar powered.
false advertising!it take a damn big solar panel to generate enough current to fire off an igniter. "Solar" was just Estes Buzz Word that year.
Neat little controller, I still use mine, with genuine 2301 Solar Igniters.Arrived today off eBay. My favorite Estes launch controller from the 70s. Hope 40 years in the box won't keep her from working.
