Can you guess what I am doing? Yes, I am taking an @estesrockets X-Ray to a 4x upscale.
Using the help of @apogeerockets design your own fin sheet.
Also, I love this little mini tape from @milwaukeetool comes in handy.
Finally, after 2 hours, I finished the @estesrockets X-Ray 4X Upscale Fin.
Again, I used @apogeerockets BT-70 graph paper for making your own fins.
Thought this was cool. 3d rendering on open rocket of the @estesrockets X-Ray 4X Upscale I'm working on. So I decided to make the @estesrockets X-Ray 4X Upscale to a full 5ft by adding 1 additional inch to the nose cone.
Received my parts and tools from @rocketryworks for the @estesrockets 4X X-Ray Upscale. I got a @rocketryworks 34-inch BT-70 body tube that was cut down to 32-inches using @rocketryworks 3D Printed Tarc Tube Cutting Guides. They were so simple to use that I was also able to cut the clear payload tube that is a BT-80 as well from @mcmastercarr which took a little longer, but patience is key when building from scratch.
Then I moved on to making the 1/8-inch body tube slots with the @rocketryworks BT-70 Fin Slotting Guide. Which I also made 3 inches long.
They have BT-80 and BT-60 tube slotting guides as well on their website. I highly recommend that if you are doing 1/8-inch through wall fins.
These guides also let you do a configuration of 3 or 4 fin rockets.
This all took a total of 20 minutes to do.
Check it out. The parts for the @estesrockets X-Ray 4X Upscale just came in from @rocketryworks that James helped me out with.
She's such a Beast!!! Can't wait for her to be done!!!
The transition holds an altimeter sled. They nose cone is designed to unscrew to change the tips if I want to change the nose weight with preset weights.
You can see the original scale @estesrockets

Quick update on the @estesrockets X-Ray 4X Upscale Project.
Can you guess what I am doing?
Yes, that's right, I am upscaling the decals now. This does take some time and patience.
I am also taking one section of decals at a time. The ones that are multiples of is easy just hitting the duplicate button and mirror.
I am using @inkscapeofficial to do this.
Once this is done. Then it's off to building the rocket after I finish the @apogeerockets Flying Machine Rocket build.
