The latest carded downscale is finished -
The WOLVERINE
It's based on the classic Estes kit #0816

Check it out on Wayne Hill's Rocketry Blog at:
https://rocketry.wordpress.com/ultimate-paper-rocket-guide/paper-rocket-partial-builds/
Scroll down and look for the Wolverine.

This model is BT-5 based and stands 6 1/2" tall.
No filling or painting, except for the nose cone made from a Semroc BNC-522P.
It should fly fine on either MMX, 1/2A3-2t or an A3-4t.

I did a blog about how this downscale was drawn up at:

The cardstock Wolverine had it's first flight this morning.
Florida has optimum flying weather now, cooler with clear skies.
A 0 - 5 mph wind was from the north, opposite of my past exerience here at the schoolyard.
I have quite a few old MPC 1/2A3-5m engines and thought it would be a good match for the soccer field.

Boost showed a tight tail end corkscrew, I'll have to add a bit of nose weight.
Altitude was lower than I thought it would be. Of course, a better engine choice would be the A3-4t.
Recovery was 100 feet away on a small streamer.

Also flying today was Bob Harrington's cardstock Red Maxx on a MMX engine.
The MMX Sky Writer turned in it's 11th flight.
An Art Applewhite Scimitar flew and spun up on a A10-3t.
Finally the downscale Goony Missile Toe flew on a Micro Maxx.

A good day at the schoolyard, rockets were introduced to spectators John and his excited four-year-old son. I invited them to our local R.O.C.K. section launch.

Chris,

Sounds like you had fun..

I can't take credit for the downscale Red Max. I think that came from the old "Downscale of some Classics" thread off the old TRF. I think it was a Greg Poehlein design.

Anyways, I'm glad to hear you had success with the Wolverine.
