eRockets/SEMROC nose cone compatibility question...

Hi folks,

I've emailed Randy at eRockets about this, but being a weekend I might not get a response quickly. I figured the answer is out here among this group so here goes:

I've suddenly realized I'm a few nose cones short of a rocket. These are going to be side pods and I need to get them to fit BT-5 tubing. I want to make sure I order the right ones... would these be from the "Balsa nose cone #5" series and the "Balsa Nose Cone BT-5" series, or just the BT-5 series? I like the shape of some of the #5 series, and from reviewing the body tube list, there's a #5 showing "same BT-5" but I just wanted to double check before I order.

So, will "Balsa nose cone #5" cones fit BT-5?

Ones I'm thinking of are toward the bottom of this page:

I have never like the numbering system or organization of the NoseCones on Erockets website. I would rather they do a style similar to BMS or Estes with a BT-xxx then there is little question what it fits and its quick to go through, if its a clone of an Estes, Centuri, or other NC that could be noted too.

I have found that the trick is to type the tube size(t-5 or bt5) into the search box, this will limit your search to things that are relevant to that particular size tube. HTH

Fortunately the old Semroc site is still up. There you can see that BT-5 (Estes) and series 5 (Centuri) tubes are the same size in both ID and OD. So nose cones for "#5 series" or "BT-5 series" will both fit either one....

I concur that the eRockets site is MUCH harder to use for parts like this.

Great references. Nice conversion sheet Brady! And Bernard, I didn't even think to check that the old SEMROC site might still be up. Thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure that it was indeed series 5 / BT 5 cones I was looking at.
